JITO

No shared equity, no purchasing pool — just a structured network built on trust.

Global

network of chapters across India and abroad

JITO (Jain International Trade Organisation) was founded in 2007 to organise the global Jain business and professional community around shared ethical and economic goals. Unlike a cooperative, it holds no shared assets and runs no joint purchasing or production — it's a network, not an enterprise.

It operates through local chapters — across Indian cities and international hubs including the US and UK — each with its own leadership, feeding into zone and national governance bodies. Its stated pillars are Seva (service), knowledge, and economic empowerment.

In practice, that means mentorship between established businesspeople and younger entrepreneurs, professional networking that opens doors community members might not otherwise reach, and coordinated charitable and welfare projects — economic power built through relationships and reputation rather than shared ownership.

Why it matters

JITO is the clearest example that “coming together” doesn't require shared equity at all — a community that simply organises trust and mentorship can still measurably change its members' economic outcomes.
